Attitudes in Teacher Talk in EFL Classroom from the Perspective of Appraisal Theory

Adopting both quantitative and qualitative research methods, based on a self-built corpus, this study analyzes the Attitude resources embodied in Teacher Talk from perspective of Appraisal Theory. The corpus is built by transcribing ten spoken English lectures delivered five excellent college teachers. This aims to find out how are used EFL classroom bridge gap between teachers students, motivate foster more engaging environment order improve teaching effectiveness.
